The inaugural ANCER meeting was held in 2012, organized by the Arts Management programme of LASALLE College of the Arts. It was convened as a first step towards creating a formal transnational network of three distinct sets of stakeholders – arts educators, researchers and practitioners – who operate in the field of arts and cultural management. Over two days, academics, practitioners and educators from the US, Europe and Asia presented academic papers and country reports on the diverse contexts of arts and cultural management in the Asia Pacific region. The inaugural ANCER meeting began with an opening dinner, hosted by LASALLE President, Professor Steve Dixon, where Mr. Benson Puah, CEO, National Arts Council, Singapore presented the keynote address.
